From your island dome, you’ll fall asleep to these rhythms and wake as light skims across Annabessacook Lake. Days unfold to a steady beat: cooking simple meals, drifting in hammocks just above the water, paddling the shoreline, and wandering the wooded trails of our 14-acre island. No headphones required.

One big sustainable island was a perfect place to get away for a couple of days. Jo and Kent were accomodating and helpful, without being intrusive. The tent came with everything that you might need for a luxurious camping experience.
Staying at Jo and Kent’s luxury tent was spectacular. For folks not used to camping it might be an adjustment, but for those who enjoy backpacking and tenting this is plush. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the site was stocked with all the cooking and campfire essentials. We loved falling asleep to the sounds of the breeze and the loons. The island is about a 10-minute walk across with several hammocks, swim spots, canoes, and a rope swing for guests to enjoy. We had such a great time, and can’t wait to go back!
I highly recommend the Maine Island Luxury Tent for anyone that wants to experience a stunning and unique place in New England. We stayed for one night and it wasn't nearly enough! The island is beautiful, peaceful, and private. The tent and campsite are so charming and perfect. Our two young dogs had the best time. Kent and Joanne are just lovely people; it was a pleasure to meet them and share their passion for the area; they love this place and it shows in everything they do. We will absolutely visit them and their amazing island again!
Kent and Jo have created an exceptionally beautiful and peaceful retreat in the woods, on an exotic little island in the middle of a picturesque lake. It is the perfect place to unwind and disconnect, to spend quiet time together with friends and family. The tent is spacious and tidy, easy to unwind in after dinner by the fire and a walk on the trails.
Great place to stay if you want to camp, but don't want to deal with setting up camp.

Joanne and Kent are great hosts. Very knowledgeable, kind and accommodating. The Luxury tent on Big Island was a fabulous peaceful getaway.
If you want to get away from it all, finish that book you've been reading, see bald eagles, loons and osprey, take long swims and quiet walks than look no further than Joanne and Kent's place on Big Island. They are the best hosts. If you need anything they are quick to respond and you'll love the boat ride over. We hope to find our way back soon!
We had such a great getaway! The water is beautiful and the swimming is great. We lucked out with a rain storm in the middle of the night that was beautiful to sleep to. Highly recommend it!
This place is a gem! My partner and I were looking for a place to camp in Maine and we could not have found a more special place. From the canoe to the rope swing, we were in heaven. Kent and Jo were super responsive and helpful the entire time. We can't wait to come again!
