Hammock Haven is tuned to Nature’s soundtrack — loons calling at dusk, water lapping beneath the dock, wind moving through the trees, and the occasional splash from someone giving in to the lake. From your island dome, you’ll fall asleep to these rhythms and wake as light skims across Annabessacook Lake. Days unfold to a steady beat: cooking simple meals, drifting in hammocks just above the water, paddling the shoreline, and wandering the wooded trails of our 14-acre island. No headphones required.

1BSI exceeded all of our expectations. Kent is truly a master of hospitality and kindness. The tent, fire pit, hammock and other amenities were perfect for a amazing night. Also, the loon calls and the solitude was much needed for the soul. This is a true Maine experience that should stay a secret but won’t because he’s so good at what he does and it’s worth it
Everything was amazing. We had a 8am arrival and waited till our tent was clean. We enjoyed everything and wasn’t bored at any point! It was so so peaceful.
Absolutely immaculate time and place here on the 1BSI. Every little hidden gem was a treasure that we can now hold onto in our hearts! We will definitely be back in the near future.

Wow, what a gift! This experience was exactly what my soul needed. Conveniently located but away from the crowds. Perfect for families but also for single, middle-aged women like me who need to get out in nature to rejuvenate, meditate or just readjust your compass. I worried a bit about the amenities but found them to be lovely and eco-friendly. I learned more about living in harmony with Mother Earth. Leave your yoga mat at home, you won’t need it here, the whole island and experience is your meditation. Write, paint, read, nap, plan a girls weekend, it’s perfect for all of that and more. It’s my new favorite camping experience, and a safe location for solo female travelers. I highly recommend 1BSI !
We had the very BEST time on the island! Jo and Kent have thought of every last little detail, making the stay so very special. It’s beautiful, comfortable, and incredibly memorable. Can’t wait to return!!

A wonderful, relaxing place to stay. Absolutely everything you could need to have a great weekend. All you need to bring is clothes, food & drink, the rest is taken care of for you. Kent & Jo are very responsive to any questions or concerns, and have thought out absolutely everything to make sure you don't have to worry about a thing. Kent had just installed a wood stove in the tent as well, so perfect for cooler weather. We would recommend this stay to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing get away that feels like your own personal lake oasis. Big thanks to Kent & Jo!
An amazing little getaway! The Island has absolutely everything you need to relax and enjoy, so you can just show up and have a glamping experience without worrying about the logistics.
This was absolutely the perfect spot to unplug. You can tell that countless hours were spent to make one big sustainable island and the attention to detail does not go unnoticed! Our only regret, not staying longer. We are already planning a 4 day weekend for our next stay! Thank you Kent!
