From your island dome, you’ll fall asleep to these rhythms and wake as light skims across Annabessacook Lake. Days unfold to a steady beat: cooking simple meals, drifting in hammocks just above the water, paddling the shoreline, and wandering the wooded trails of our 14-acre island. No headphones required.

Such a special place to spend time. Serene and beautiful and private and loaded with everything you need for a successful camp! And you can canoe yourself to and from the island which we highly recommend! Would definitely return!

I booked this site at the last minute as a quiet getaway while visiting family nearby - and it was truly perfect. If you enjoy beautiful lakeside sunsets, listening to the loons, and enjoying quiet contemplation beneath coniferous trees, you won’t be disappointed! A few things I would pack next time: a hat for paddling, water shoes, binoculars, and a journal for note taking. Even without these items, I was entirely comfortable and content. Can’t wait to come back again!

Such a magical little island! Kent was really thorough with letting us know how to get to the island and letting us know the ferry times (we opted for the canoe there and back, so fun!). The island itself has pretty much everything you need except food and your clothes so definitely pack light! Can’t wait to come back and enjoy again!

1BSI is a little slice of heaven. From the very beginning communication was great and everything was made so clear and straightforward. Kent was a perfect host, always offering to help or retrieve anything we needed. Our site was relaxing and private, and was stocked with everything. And just a short walk down to the lake and the hammock (fits two)! Lots of wildlife to see and nature to soak in. The loons are abundant here! My phone was turned off the whole time and I didn’t miss it once. Will definitely be back!
