We had high hopes for this place and boy did it deliver! The check in process was smooth and the hosts are fantastic, helpful and very easy going. It was wonderful to get away and disconnect without actually being very far away. We spent our days swimming, walking in the woods, and sitting by the fire with the only thing on our agendas each day was watching the sunset. <br/>10/10 would recommend!
Relaxing, private, getaway at Big Island. A-Frame and the island were gorgeous. Perfect “glamour-ing” experience... get a good nights sleep while still enjoying cooking outside and campfires at night.... with minimal packing required! Jo, Kent, Sky and Shadow were hospitable and kind. We will be back.

We spent three lovely, relaxing days on One Big Sustainable Island. The A-Frame was cozy and comfortable, the surroundings were idyllic, and Kent and Jo were exceptional hosts who made sure we wanted for nothing. All the joys of camping, with the luxuries of home. <br/>The A-frame at 1BSI was our own “Little House on Big Island”. It truly is a very special place and we look forward to visiting again soon!
We had the most magical 3 nights on the island. Jo and Kent are the most lovely Airbnb hosts I've had, responding to our every ask (such as touring the other beautiful accommodations on the island!) with great pleasure. They have truly put their heart into making the island sustainable and a place for the community to learn about sustainable values. The A-frame was rustic yet modern-stylish. We spent unforgettable afternoons in and on the lake and its small beaches. Our time on the island was the best part of our 2-week-long Maine trip.

The A-Frame on 1BSI was one of our favorite AirBnB experiences yet. As COVID-19 canceled our original out of state vacation plans, we refocused to vacation in our home state, and we are so glad we found this gem. The island fulfilled the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation, complete with morning swims, canoe rides at sunset, and trails that led to perfect reading spots. The A-Frame was so cozy and modest, yet had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Jo & Kent (puppy dog Sky, too!) were such wonderful hosts that were easy to communicate with and quick to help us with anything we needed. Thank you for sharing your island with us, it was the best place to end a decade and celebrate my 30th birthday!
We were intune with nature for a whole week and it was not long enough! The wildlife on the island brought new surprises every day. Jo and Kent were fabulous and gracious hosts. We look forward to visiting again 😊
