Hammock Haven is tuned to Nature’s soundtrack — loons calling at dusk, water lapping beneath the dock, wind moving through the trees, and the occasional splash from someone giving in to the lake. From your island dome, you’ll fall asleep to these rhythms and wake as light skims across Annabessacook Lake. Days unfold to a steady beat: cooking simple meals, drifting in hammocks just above the water, paddling the shoreline, and wandering the wooded trails of our 14-acre island. No headphones required.

I can say enough about One Big SI, Kent and Heather were so amazing, they really know how to run this business. The place was spectacular, peaceful, fun, romantic,. I noticed from the check in that, this was going to be one of the most beautiful experience that me and my lovely wife ever had in years. we came to celebrate 30 years Anniversary and Just to sit on the sunset rock and contemplate that moment is speechless. Thanks guys for make to this moment one of the best in our life. I highly recommend this place and definably I WILL BE BACK.
Absolutely magical two days at BSI. So comfortable and peaceful. The lake and the sunsets are gorgeous. Spent a perfect morning listening to the rain on the tent roof while reading a great book and sipping a cup of coffee - perfection. So was swimming off our private dock and sunbathing on a hammock that floats in the lake. Cannot wait to return, plans in progress.
Kent and Heather are wonderful hosts. Very accommodating and helpful. Kent has a great thing going at 1BSI and we will return one day.
Hemlock haven was our first glamping experience. Kent made this trip so carefree, everything we needed and more was provided. Our dogs had so much fun exploring the island and swimming in the lake. We will definitely be back to try one of the other stays at 1BSI
My partner and I had such a great time creating core memories here! They really thought of everything which made for a less stressful and more enjoyable trip ! Hemlock haven is so pretty, peaceful and private ! the highlight of our stay was being able to bring our 2 pups that learned how to swim in the lake ! They’ve splashed around in the ocean before but never actually swam! We will be visiting again that’s for sure !
Our time on the island was phenomenal! Kent was very flexible and accommodating and ensured we always had everything we needed for a fantastic stay. We chose to paddle to and from the island and Kent made the journey smooth and comfortable by transporting our belongings by ferry so we didn't have to worry about carrying it all. The tent was well-stocked and cozy and we were lucky enough to have some beautiful swims, see some great sunsets, and of course eat lots of our favorite camping foods. Cannot recommend this place enough!
One Big Sustainable Island is like a dream that you're awake for! My biggest happiness was privacy and just the right amount of attention from the hosts. My person who shared accommodations with me was a big, very big :) fluffy dog and I was so happy to be able to bring him. But, you know what usually happens when people say you can bring your best friend....sometimes it just feels uncomfortable no matter how well-behaved your pup is...not here!!! My dog was welcomed from boat to camp site to lake to trails in the sweetest, kindest way. He was made to feel at home right from the start and that made me feel at home too! We both LOVED being here. We cannot wait to come again!! Thank you!!
