We had a perfect weekend break on Joanne and Kent's island. The weather was supposed to be stormy so we came prepared with a board game and activities, but the storm blew right past us! I was a little nervous about the temperature in the tent on a hot July night, but it's shaded by trees and there are multiple ways to open up the tent to keep it nice and cool. All you really need to bring is food
and they have everything you might need for cooking, including a great two-burner gas stove with fuel. The firepit is totally stocked with bark, kindling and wood, so getting a warm fire going is super easy.
The island was the perfect place to relax for a couple days. You can walk the trails in less than 30 minutes, paddle around the lake in the canoe, and watch the sunset go down from the campsite. Our favorite thing was that the campsite opened up right onto the lake so we could easily go in for a swim anytime we wanted. Joanne and Kent are so welcoming and we had a lovely weekend. Highly recommended and can't wait to go back.

We had one of the nicest days and nights at this island. Everything was set up for a comfortable stay and nothing lacked. The hosts were extremely friendly and welcoming, and just all-around nice people. The island is absolutely incredible - 14 acres to explore, a dock, a sunset rock, a canoe. Pierre fished off the dock and caught our dinner - 7 fish! I read in the sun and in the hammock, and swam, swam, swam in the beautiful, clear, and warm water. The tent was peaceful and we enjoyed falling asleep to the sounds of the loons. I really can't recommend this place enough! Great value and less than an hour from Portland. Thank you!

The ad doesn't quite convey how amazing and unique this location is. It really is a one of a kind place, I've never stayed anywhere like it. Book this place, you will not be disappointed.

AMAZING! I wanted an unplugged, gorgeous weekend off the beaten path, and found it! I am definitely not a camper, not even close to being one, but I did want to try 'glamping' - camping without any 'roughing it' - wow, I had a wonderful time. Comfy, only had to bring food - everything else I needed was provided by Joanne and Kent, including a canoe w/ safety vests, all bags carried to the boat, then to the tent. Cozy fire pit, comfy bed, chairs and all cooking utensils, pots & pans, a gas stove - really everything we needed, including a hammock by the water. I am so glad I went. No hiking or hard trails to navigate, everything easy-peasy. Just quiet, swimming, watching the fire, relaxing. Exactly what I wanted. Joanne and Kent were beyond helpful, very gracious and have taken so much trouble to make their guests feel welcome. Highly recommend, I'll be back!

Joanne and Kent are two of the sweetest, most interesting people you're likely to meet, as Airbnb hosts go. Their island is one-of-a-kind with personal touches everywhere you look, and they went far above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable (even by glamping's generous standards). We look forward to returning.

We needed a last minute airbnb, Joanne and Kent happily accommodated us. It was such a wonderful and fun experience! The tent, island and lake entirely is such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. It's truly a little slice of heaven!
Jo and Kent are wonderful, pleasant people. We are so lucky they shared their world with us! We are definitely returning and reccomending them to friends and family!
