This place is amazing for getting away. We didn’t bring the kids but will next time. It is perfect for them to run free and explore. I hate ti give a glowing review because I want it all to myself. We’ve been looking for a spot like this for years. Clean, comfortable, beautiful.
Jo and Kent were amazing hosts. It was easy to communicate with them the entire time. They showed thoughtfulness for us and helped us stay warm and dry in the rain. The day after it rained, it was beautiful and sunny so we got to explore the island and take the kayak out. While the entire trip was peaceful and relaxing, our favorite part was reading in the hammock. We will definitely be back!

It's a great way to be in nature and away from society, while still having a roof over your head. They are very knowledgeable about the local wildlife and very friendly and interested in having good conversations.<br/>The island is absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. I highly recommend this as a romantic getaway or a fun weekend with the family. Particularly during warmer weather months when swimming is an option.<br/>Also a great spot to propose :)

When your 9 year old asks to have a weekend on Jo and Kent’s island rather than have gifts, you know this place must be pretty special! Every detail for a weekend off the grid is taken care of here. Comfortable beds and all the necessities for meals by campfire make for an amazing stay. Kids, pets, and adults all find their inner tree hugger and learn from Jo and Kent’s sustainable way of living. From the composting toilet to the upcycled housewares, every detail of our stay left us feeling responsible and respectful of this beautiful retreat just minutes from Augusta! Hopefully our son chooses this as his birthday gift for the next nine years because his father, sister, two dogs, and I can’t wait to come back!
